During his tour of the the West Coast, Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman started in Seattle and met the CEOs of some of the world’s most recognizable business brands: Amazon, Boeing, and Microsoft. The Crown Prince articulated Saudi Arabia’s desire to expand opportunities for economic growth, and to modernize its capacity in technology and retail.
It was also a visit about trade. The Port of Seattle is the second largest commercial hub in the United States, and the Crown Prince emphasized the new possibilities for investing in the markets of the future. He also sought to increase awareness of Saudi Arabian engagements in global relief efforts and explore potential collaborations with leading U.S. humanitarian organizations such as the Gates Foundation.

Engaging the global hub of technological innovation, the Crown Prince facilitated historic discussions with Seattle’s business and philanthropic leaders, including Bill Gates, Co-Chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation; Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO of Amazon; and Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft.
Developing the technology industry in Saudi Arabia is an essential part of Vision 2030, which is why the Crown Prince focused on these meetings. With Mr. Gates, the Crown Prince reviewed aspects of cooperation in joint development programs and projects. With Mr. Bezos, the Crown Prince illustrated Saudi Arabia’s potential for digital innovators and industry disruptors such as Amazon. Speaking to Mr. Nadella, the Crown Prince outlined the growth potential of the Saudi economy and how Microsoft can cooperate on training Saudis citizens, and supporting the Kingdom’s digital transformation and knowledge-based innovation.
